Criminal Justice and Tech Zone Collaborate |

Recently, the members of WACC Criminal Justice and Tech Zone classes collaborated in making a “shoot-don’t shoot” scenario in each block. These scenarios are based on those used around the country for training police officers and other law enforcement personnel in making deadly force decisions. All three criminal justice blocks created different scenarios. Elliot Campos was the director and film editor throughout all of the blocks.

Computer Tech Students Tour CGH Medical Center IT Department |

Computer Tech students from WACC took a short tour of the IT Department at CGH Medical Center on May 7th. CGH offers students at WACC the opportunity to see how a large scale IT infrastructure looks like. John Kelly, Director of IT at CGH, and the CGH IT staff answered questions about the type of employees CGH looks for, the types of applications that CGH runs, and how data is stored. Although WACC students had to walk the three blocks in a light rain, it was worth it.

2007-2008 Scholarship Winners Announced |

Forty-three seniors submitted scholarship applications and resumes. All applicants participated in an interview with Ms. Purvis and Ms. Hewitt. This was a difficult process as many students deserved recognition.
