On Tuesday, April 21st, WACC students Tom Foster and Doug Wallin gave a presentation to over 50 school technology directors at the Lee/Ogle Regional Office of Education on how to better protect their networks from students and other hackers. The amount of positive responses was overwhelming and they did WACC students proud. It is not easy getting up and talking in front of a crowd of people especially when many of them are very well versed in technology. I felt a few of the participants at the conference asked a few difficult questions to try and trip Tom and Doug up but they were quick with accurate answers. 

The 2009 edition of Career Quest is taking place today and tomorrow at the Whiteside Area Career Center.  By Friday afternoon, 1300 eighth grade students from across the area will have visited the Career Center's many programs and learned about the future job opportunities available to them.
