Automotive Technology Instructor
WACC is currently looking for qualified applicants to teach Automotive Technology.
Salary/Benefits: Salary ranges between $36,900 and $45,000 dependent upon teaching experience and/or education. Teacher retirement paid in full. Partially paid individual and/or family insurance available.
Duties: Candidates are responsible for Automotive Technology instruction of high school juniors and seniors at the Career Center. Instruction will include basic repair skills such as lubrication, brakes, engine tune up, suspension, fuel injection, computer controls, electrical systems, exhaust systems, transmissions and clutches, cooling systems, and heating and air conditioning. In addition, advanced students will learn differential operation, engine diagnostics.
Qualifications: Qualified candidates will need certification as required by the state of Illinois – 1) Professional Educator License (PEL) for Secondary Education, and appropriate endorsements for Technology Education (2,000 HRS work experience in the field) OR 2) CTE Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) Endorsement (8,000 HRS work experience in the field).
